“You forget yourself, your lordship. You have no rights to allow or disallow anything I may choose to do. You have, in fact, no claim over me whatsoever – a circumstance for which I thank the Lord on a daily basis! I am neither your ward nor your dependent, and I will not allow you to talk to me in that odiously overbearing fashion!”DG Rampton, Artemisia

Artemisia is a bit of a tom-boy. She would much rather be dressed in boys’ clothes exploring her uncle’s estate than engaging in the typical female activities of the time. All is well until her uncle, the Duke of Wentworth, decides it is time for her first season in London. There she meets the Marquess of Chysm who always seems to be around to witness her shortcoming and bring them to her attention–much to her annoyance. This story features a love-hate romance, a reluctant debutante, and a spy thrown in for good measure

I like a good romance and if it is filled with delightful dialogue, witty humor, and some heat (while still being clean), it doesn’t get much better than that. I discovered Artemisia and DG Rampton a few years ago and I am so happy I did. I really enjoyed this book as well as the other two other stand alone books in the series: Aphrodite and Aurora. All of them are good, hilarious, and rollickingly fun.
