If you like clean, witty, delightful Regency Romances, look no further than Naomi and the Purloined Journal Alicia Cameron is a master of the genre and all of her books are stellar. This book is about two branches of a family tree who are forced to live together. The first branch is the snooty one who refer to themselves as “The Royals” and they are none too pleased when an unfashionably dressed family shows up on the doorstep of Tremaine Towers, the home of Cedric Marchmont, Earl of Tremaine. This turns out to be their relatives from Scotland who they soon begin referring to as “The Wild Marchmonts. The two families have virtually nothing in common. The Royals despise everything about the Wild Marchmonts but the Wilds, who are a close and loving family, could care less. Things take a turn when Elliott (a royal) returns home and meets the Wilds. He also comes across the hiding place of the journal belonging to Naomi, one of the Wilds. He knows he shouldn’t read it, but he can’t help himself and when he reads her view of his family, he finds it riotously funny. He continues to read the journal to see Naomi’s latest thoughts but when he reads her thoughts about him, his world is turned upside down.
This is a a romantic comedy of manners that will make you laugh. I dare you to not be charmed by this book! If you love the book, you are in luck! This is the first of two books in The Wild Marchmonts series
