“Human beings have a remarkable ability to accept the abnormal and make it normal.”–Andy Weir, Project Hail Mary

Ryland Grace, former middle school science teacher, awakens to find himself alone on a spacecraft with no memory of who he is, how he got there, or why is on the ship. As his memories return slowly and unclearly, he realizes he is on a mission to the save the earth and with his crewmates dead, he is the only one left to figure out how that can possibly be done. If he fails, humanity and the earth will cease to exist.

This is an exciting and often hilarious story that celebrates resilience, resourcefulness, and friendship. I read the book but have heard the audio book is excellent. The book lends itself so well to an audio edition that a friend of mine asked if you could even read it in print. She said she couldn’t imagine not listening to it! Read it or listen to it–either way, you won’t be disappointed in Andy Weir’s latest interstellar adventure.
