“The world of the past few decades has been the best it will ever be in our lifetime. Instead of cheap and better and faster, we’re rapidly transitioning into a world that’s pricier and worse and slower. Because the world—our world—is breaking apart.”–Peter Zeihan, The End of the World is Just the Beginning: Mapping the Collapse of Globalization
Peter Zeihan, a geopolitical strategist, has a view of the future and for much of the world, it is not pretty. In this book, Zeihan makes the case for the coming collapse of globalization and the impact that will have on the world. In his opinion, the United States will fare decently well, but some other countries will return to a nearly pre-industrial era. Ziehan states that the post WWII era until now has been an anomaly in the history of the world, that we peaked in 2019, and that is pretty much all down hill from here.
Whether or not you agree with Zeihan and his forecasting, this is an interesting book that will make you think. If only 10% of what he predicts is accurate, it will be a wild ride. Forewarned is forearmed so read up and brace yourself for the coming decades. I recommend the audio book which Ziehan narrates.
