“And so I discovered that it is not on our forgiveness any more than on our goodness that the world’s healing hinges, but on His. When He tells us to love our enemies, He gives, along with the command, the love itself.”–Corrie Ten Boom, The Hiding Place
Corrie Ten Boom was a remarkable woman. She was the first licensed female watchmaker in the Netherlands, fought in the resistance against Hitler, helped an estimated 800 Jews escape the Nazis, survived her experience in a Nazi concentration camp, and was deeply committed to her faith. Corrie was the only member of her family to survive the camps and her story in nothing short of inspirational.
After the war, she spoke openly of her experience and her ability to forgive because of her faith. This is an amazing book and reminds us that hope, healing, and forgiveness are the foundations of personal peace.
