“It’s not vanity to know your own good points. It would just be stupidity if you didn’t; It’s only vanity when you get puffed up about them.”― Lucy Maud Montgomery, The Story Girl
I adore Lucy Maude Montgomery and the characters she created. They are delightful and take the reader back to a different era. The Story Girl is about fourteen year old Sara Stanley, a girl with a gift for storytelling. Children and adults alike in the town of Carlisle flock to hear her spin her tales. Bev King and his younger brother, Felix, come to Carlisle for the summer and they too are enraptured with Sara’s stories. Between the stories and their adventures with Sara, it is sure to be a memorable summer and we lucky readers get to enjoy Sara’s tales also.
